Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Salute to Suit mobile application and/or website (collectively, "S2S," "the App," "the Service," or "our Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. You must explicitly accept these Terms during onboarding to use the Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service. These Terms apply to both the mobile application and website.

2. Services Description

Salute to Suit provides:

• Compensation Calculator: Tools to compare military pay with civilian equivalent compensation packages.
• Transition Planning: Resources and tools to assist with military-to-civilian career transitions.
• Retirement Analysis: Interactive tools to evaluate and visualize multiple retirement scenarios and track your Thrift Savings Plan and additional 401k.
• Benefits Valuation: Information and calculators to understand the value of active duty military benefits.
• General Resources: Information about upskilling, military career options, entrepreneurship, spousal support, and more.

3. Disclaimer

The information provided by Salute to Suit is for general informational purposes only. All information is provided in good faith, however:

• We make no representation or warranty of any kind regarding accuracy, adequacy, validity, reliability, availability, or completeness of any information.
• Calculations and estimates are based on publicly available data and general assumptions. Results should be independently verified.
• This is not financial or investment advice. Consult with qualified professionals for specific guidance.

4. Account Registration and Termination

1. Registration: To access the Service, you must create an account using a third-party secure authentication service. We collect your email address, first name, last name, branch of service, career field, and status.
2. Your Responsibilities: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.
3. Account Deletion: You may delete your account at any time through the Account Management section in the app or by visiting salutetosuit.com/account/delete. Deletion removes your personal information from our servers within 30 days.
4. Termination by S2S: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violations such as hacking, fraud, or abuse of the Service.
5. Termination Appeals: If your account is terminated, you may request a review by contacting support@salutetosuit.com within 30 days.

4a. Subscriptions and Billing

• Premium Plans: S2S offers optional paid subscription plans (monthly and annual) that unlock additional features. Current pricing is displayed on the Pricing page.
• Web Billing: Web subscriptions are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. S2S does not store your payment card information.
• Mobile Billing: iOS and Android subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store respectively, subject to their billing terms. Payments are managed by RevenueCat.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to premium features until then.
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@salutetosuit.com. Mobile purchases are subject to Apple/Google refund policies.
• Family Plan: The Family Plan allows a subscriber to share premium access with one linked partner. Sharing is revoked upon cancellation or account unlinking.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of local, state, national, or international law.
• Violate or infringe others' rights, including intellectual property or privacy rights.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service or its source code.

6. Calculations and Estimates

• Pay calculations use publicly available military pay tables and standard tax formulas.
• Retirement projections use historical averages for COLA, discount rate, and market returns.
• All projections are estimates and not guaranteed.
• Federal and state tax implications vary and should be verified independently.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its content, features, and functionality, is owned by S2S and protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. The Salute to Suit name and logo are trademarks of S2S. You may not use these trademarks without our prior written permission.

8. Changes to Terms

S2S may modify these Terms at any time. We review these Terms annually to ensure compliance with applicable laws. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification, email, or a prompt on the website. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

9. Liability

Under no circumstance shall S2S have any liability to you for any loss or damage incurred as a result of the use or reliance on any information provided. Your use of the app and your reliance on any information is solely at your own risk.

10. User Inputs and Financial Information

The Service's tools require you to input personal financial information. You acknowledge that:

• The accuracy of calculations depends on your inputs.
• S2S does not verify your inputs.
• S2S does not collect or store sensitive financial information (e.g., bank account numbers, Social Security numbers, or credit card details).
• You are responsible for securing your device and the information you input.
• S2S is not liable for financial decisions based on the Service's calculations.

11. Educational Purpose

The Service is for educational and informational purposes only. Its tools and resources are not substitutes for professional financial, tax, or career advice.

12. Accessibility

S2S strives to ensure our Service is accessible to users with disabilities in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. If you encounter accessibility barriers, contact support@salutetosuit.com.

13. Geographic Scope

The Service is intended for U.S. residents, particularly military members, veterans, and recruits. Military personnel stationed globally may access the Service, subject to local laws and applicable app store restrictions.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts in Miami-Dade County, Florida, or through mediation if mutually agreed.

15. Force Majeure

S2S shall not be liable for any failure to perform due to circumstances beyond its control, including natural disasters, government actions, cyberattacks, or third-party service outages.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

17. Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using our Service, you agree to the Privacy Policy.

18. Third-Party Sites and Services

The Service may provide links to third-party websites or services. We do not review, endorse, or control these third-party sites. You access them at your own risk.

Our Service integrates the following third-party providers: Firebase (Google) for analytics and authentication; Vercel for web hosting; Stripe for web payment processing; and RevenueCat for iOS/Android in-app purchase management. Each provider operates under its own terms and privacy policy.

19. Communications

You agree to receive communications from us, including service-related notices and promotional emails. You may opt out of promotional emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any promotional email.
